What is a 'must-have" for you in a town? Good language school for improving my French. Access to the arts and culture--music, museums, historical sites, gardens, architecture. Much of France offers these but smaller towns not so much so I see myself in a good size city.
What is a deal-breaker" for you in a town? Deal breakers: poor quality or choice of housing options, in my case rentals; difficulty of being able to find housing with my limited French skills. Need AC or ability to install AC on my own. Not too many stairs as I have some knee issues.
