The accommodation for the Try-It-Out-Trip in Angers is an establishment of about 10 apartments centrally located in Angers. In order for participants of the Try-It-Out-Trip to obtain advantageous rates, they need to book their accommodation here through A Life in France. We provide you with the address and name two weeks before departure.
Minuses
- Staff is extraordinarily vigilant regarding cleanliness and rule-following. This is a lovely place to be, but the rules are fairly stringent (no parties, no animals, no walking on the grass, careful inspection for damages at check-out). The less meticulous guest may feel over-supervised. We have other, less stringent, but still good quality apartment options.
- There is only one set of keys for each apartment, so if there is more than one occupant, leaving a key in the keybox is the work-around.
- Kitchens have good appliances but are not richly appointed with utensils or other small items one often finds in other apartments (spices, olive oil, etc.)
- Beds are generally rated well, but a few people think they are a bit hard.
- This is a quiet location nearly all the time. That being said, this is a huge university town and night life is a few blocks away. If you prefer to sleep with your windows open, you will regularly hear the student’s nightlife. (Considerably less noisy than an US university town, but not entirely quiet between 9 and ?…as it is the rest of the day). Most occupants don’t report it being noisy enough to keep them awake.

- Centrally located (location could not be more central, yet is quiet, safe and private)
- Competitively priced. You will likely pay slightly more for other comparable apartments, less well-located. We’ve looked.
- Meticulously maintained. Not a thing out of place.
- Conscientious staff
- Stylish furnishing and appliances
- Air conditioning (which is a relative rarity here)
- Most of the other participants of the T-I-O-T will stay here (which most people experience as a plus as it creates a way to easily socialise.)
Other Details
- There is no elevator here. The building goes up to the 2nd floor (European).
- They do not provide irons in the rooms but you can arrange to use one via the staff.
- They do provide hair dryers in the room.
- 400 Euro Damage ‘hold’ on your credit card for the length of your stay, to be returned upon inspection at checkout. Owners do not abuse this and would only retain the damage amount for extreme cases.
