I haven't spent any time in Saumur, but I do love the Amboise/Blois area further up the Loire Valley. Amboise is smaller and perhaps more beautiful. Blois is a larger town perhaps with more to do. Both are great home bases for exploring the chateaux and other attractions in the Loire Valley. I'd like to see them added to this site so that I can learn more about living there rather than just visiting as a tourist.
