A Visit to the Saturday Market with a Local

We have volunteers who shop at the ENORMOUS Saturday market in Place Leclerc known by its regulars as “le grand marché” who will serve as your guide. Located in the heart of the city, between the town hall, the courthouse and the convention centre. It has the widest choice of all the city’s markets, with something for everyone. You’ll find both organic and sustainable vegetable growers from the nearby area as well as fruit and vegetable sellers offering conventionally farmed produce. You can come away with fish, flowers, wine, spices, a pair of trousers or even cooking utensils.

I am assuming everyone will come to this (even if you forgot to RSVP) and if everyone does come, there will be 3 – 4 in each group.

We also have a lovely volunteer who lives near one of the other (quite pretty, still a good size) markets.  I’ve already decided who that is, so unless I’ve told you you are going to Place Lafayette market then you’re headed for the Le Mail Restaurant at 10 sharp!!  (and I’ll let the helpers and the visitors sort out who goes with whom.)
