70+ year old male (single, after 2 marriages and 2 divorces). I have hearing issues (cochlear implant) and generally avoid events/venues that might have loud background noise. I am somewhat introverted (until I get to know you). I am retired after 35 years as a pharmacist, after earning a BA in History. My interests are sports (baseball, football), the US stock market (keeping track of my investments), history (many eras), science and health. Though I am not tech friendly, I keep up with all those topics on the internet.
learning the language in HS made the country seem special. i watched 'Mary, Queen of Scots and there were scenes shot at Chenonceau. I stayed after to find out its' name (roll the credits). i said to myself "i gotta go there!" and i DID 3yrs later! I spent the summer after HS in Caen enrolled in a language program. In college as a history major I chose courses involving France and spent a semester during Junior year in Rennes. I was placed with a French family and felt that I made good progress speaking French. I vacationed in France 4-5 times but none since 2000 until Marilee's Sept 2025 group.
