French bureaucracy rewards those who understand its logic and frustrates everyone else.

The multi-level governance model, the inconsistencies between jurisdictions, the weight given to local protocol — none of it is intuitive from the outside. I spent years working inside it.

Born with dual French and American nationality, I have spent my career working across both legal cultures — Common Law in the U.S. and Civil Law in France — often at the exact points where they collide.

Over the years I have worked as "Instructeur de Dossier" for Arbitrations at a French Prefecture,  "Chargée de Mission Consulaire" for French nationals in Colombia, Paralegal in Immigration Law in the State of Florida for 8 years, and Senior Advocate for "Que Choisir" France's foremost Consumer Rights Organization.

These weren't parallel careers — they built on each other, and together they cover the full arc of how administrative and legal systems actually function in practice.

Now retired,  I reside in La Sarthe — a part of France overlooked and where expat support is thin on the ground and practical guidance genuinely matters. I am located half-way between Le Mans and Angers.
