Heat
Towns are classified into three categories -- "most/mid/least in France " for the given weather condition.  In the case of heat, note the colors in the map below. For example, if you choose "zero tolerance" you will eliminate (from towns you are matched with) any town that is in the region indicated in the deepest red, aka 'most hot' of France.
Cold
Towns are classified into three categories -- "most/mid/least in France " for the given weather condition.  In the case of cold, note the colors in the map below. For example, if you choose "zero tolerance" you will eliminate (from towns you are matched with) any town that is in the region indicated in the green, aka 'most cold' of France.
Rain and frequent overcast skies

A nearly completely French & long-time resident town; very few English speakers, not even many French new arrivals
Mostly French & long-term residents; a few newcomers, English speakers are the exception but there are a few
French & long-term residents are in the majority; newcomers are also common, English speakers are not rare
French long-time residents may outnumber others but there are lots of newcomers, including English speakers
Unusual number of newcomers & English speakers; the town feels very international
There are a LOT of English-speakers here!
