Not too big, not to small, Uzes is just right. There are enough restaurants and shops to keep you fed and entertained. The market on Wednesdays and Saturdays cannot be beat in all of France. A large expat group is active and hosts at least one gathering each month. If I lived there, I'd want to have a car to get to the larger supermarkets, wineries, and neighboring towns like Nimes, and of course for day trips to wonderful towns and attractions in Occitanie and Provence.
Couldn't agree more. And to add to it, there is the Valle d'Eure, which has some of the most heavenly (and pretty easy) hiking all along the river. Just dreamy.
