Nice reliably ends up on the top of almost everyone's list...with the big proviso, if they can afford it. Nice is not cheap. But the scenery, the wide range of international residents, all the amenities of shopping and healthcare, and that superb microclimate (often avoiding the worst heat of other parts of the south and virtually never cold. Also sun, sun sun!) Is it on the top of your list
