What does the assessment consist of?
We ask you to take a survey that takes no more than 15 minutes. We schedule a 1/2 hour call to discuss where you are at on your journey to a life in France.
Why is it free?
Our job is building a bridge between the dream and a (successful) real life in France. We are not in the business of leading people down the garden path. Not everyone can do this. We’re good at assessing that. The assessment allows both of us to have confidence that no one is wasting anyone’s time.
Our secret weapon for getting unstuck
Our secret ingredient in the A Life in France™ process is community. Along with the initial conversation, you’ll also be able to attend one of our “apero” evenings on Zoom with others on the same path. Our friendly, low-stress Zooms give you a glimpse of just how powerful an ongoing community can be for this journey. Always a small friendly group, always professionally facilitated.
What if this is not right for me?
We’ll tell you. Before you pay a cent. For some people, a retirement to France would be a mistake. Using a assessment tool and a one-on-one conversation, we give you an one hour candid reality check. For free.
It’s OK to dream. But what we do is help you bridge the gap between dream and reality.

What’s a ‘Try-It-Out-Trip’?
It’s a month of (French) life skill-building
Why Is It a month-long?
What does it include? How much? Why is it hard to get into?
When? September 15th – October 15th, 2025
Why so long? Living in a place is much different than going on a vacation there. A month is enough to switch the gear from romantic getaway to practical everyday.
What: Accommodation + Community + Language & Practical Skill Curriculum *
How much: A full month for the price of most week-long cruises or tours, starting at $6999 a person. What’s included?
Hard to get into:? This trip is not for everybody. Our goal is to offer a process that ensures your retirement in France is a well-thought-out step. So we’re committed to being sure this is the right trip for you. This trip is specifically targeted towards the person who is well beyond being a tourist, but not quite daredevil enough to make the leap without some rational forethought and preparation. For that reason, before we sign you up, we go through a careful, friendly, and free assessment.
